This years Gala 2020
Community of Hope, North Portland’s only shelter for homeless families, exists to empower Portland’s homeless single- parent families to seek hope, healing, and stability while living in a safe, supportive environment. Residents can stay for up to six months and many use that time to regain strength, clarity, and the practical skills needed to make the next move toward successful housing.
On Saturday, May 30th we will be hosting 2020’s major fundraising event: The 5th Annual Raise Hope Gala. It is ambitious goal is to raise $100,000! As a community leader, your support is vital for us continuing our important work. Here’s how you can help:

How to help: Donate a good or service!
What’s needed: Overnight rental stay, entertainment tickets, sporting event tickets, restaurant gift certificates, home furnishings, and more.
Why: All proceeds go towards fully funding the 24/7 shelter and programs in North Portland.
Benefit to you: Contributing businesses will be recognized in the event program and in social media promotion of the gala.
Create a Basket Challenge
Procuring donations is difficult when small local businesses are trying to survive and much of the charitable giving is for immediate and emergency causes.
So, here is where the creative challenge comes in. Are you are doing your spring-cleaning right now? Are you finding things with price tags or never used items or “I wonder how gave me that for Christmas?” We have an idea for those.
This year we would like to set up multiple baskets for our Gala. Will you join our creative team in using this time to put your finds into an attractive basket we can sell? Here are some ideas to start your creative juices flowing. It doesn’t even need to be a basket!
Let’s use this time of hardship and fear to help others through our generosity and our creative thinking. What better way to serve our community and RAISE HOPE in our hearts?
Without stepping out of your home can you find wonderful things to create a basket with a fun twist. Maybe even a few surprises hidden at the bottom of the basket? When you have created a basket, take a picture of it and send it to us at terrie@communityofhopepdx.org . Add a description of what is in it and try to make it sound like people absolutely cannot bear to let someone else outbid you.
