What is Community of Hope?
Community of Hope exists to empower eight homeless single-parent families at a time to cultivate hope, healing, and stability while living in a safe, supportive environment. Currently, we are able to home eight families at a time.
How will we raise money at the 2021 Raise Hope gala?
Our aim is to raise $50,000—or more—together! It is a big goal and we are excited to offer all kinds of engaging ways for you to be a part of the action. Bid on silent and live auction items. We’ll start our evening together with a paddle raise.
What does the money raised go toward?
Every donation received at the gala will be used to support and transform the lives of the families who call Community of Hope home. Our 24/7 program relies heavily on the generous support of community organizations and individuals to pay staff, purchase curriculum, and yes, keep the lights on.
What should I wear?
Since you are at home, there is no dress code. However, to make this more festive, why not dress up? This might mean a fun cocktail dress, a smart pantsuit, or a jacket, maybe even a tie. Whatever makes you feel ready to have a good time for a great cause is all that really matters!
How do I log on?
Starting at noon on May 20, you can click the link to our silent auction. Check out the items and start bidding June 2nd. On June 4 at 4:45 the livestream begins, then at 5:00 the program officially will start. You can click on the link to our live stream and join the program. You will be able to find these links on our website’s homepage when they are live.
How can I watch the live-stream and bid or give at the same time?
It will be most helpful to have two devices, computer, tablet, phone, or whatever and watch on one and bid or donate on another. You can also open two tabs and toggle back and forth between them.
Do I need to register or buy a ticket?
No, this event is free and open to everyone, but in order to bid or donate during the event you will need to register.
But I’ll miss seeing people! What can I do?
Buy a “table” ahead of time. Invite some friends to join you, and set up a Zoom meeting before we begin. If you buy the “Table” ahead of time for $400 and commit to having at least 8 at your table, we’ll deliver a bottle of wine, beer, or ingredients for a mixed drink for each household you invite ahead of time and you can deliver them to your guests. Then you can raise a glass and watch the live-stream together by sharing your screen. Just send a check or go online and donate $400 with a memo that it is for a table.
