On the night after our Celebrate and Support Hope Event, the Home Builders Foundation had their Building Hope Gala Auction. They raised $270,000 for the shelters they are supporting, including Community of Hope. They featured us in their video. Linda Jo Devlaeminck attended the event. She was delighted to meet many of the people who are supporting us in our renovations. She’s very grateful for all of their help.
The Home Builders Foundation approached us to offer to help. They chose to help us paint our building in Building a Better Tomorrow last year. Then they took on the project of renovating our building. They are providing a team captain to oversee the project, soliciting donations or discounts of materials and labor, and providing expertise in managing our project. In addition, they are providing a major part of our funding. Beyond their mission of building and repairing homeless shelters, they have been our champions in helping us negotiate with the city to waive fees.
